  • First laboratory production of Factor VIII, a clotting factor for bleeding in hemophiliacs.
1985

  • Genentech received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to produce growth hormone for children with growth hormonne deficiency - the first recombinant pharmaceutical product to be manufactured and marketed by a biotechnology company
