Chromosome - Dark staining body. The structure that contains the genes.

Simple Viral chromosomes: These chromosomes are mainly DNA with very little protein. They are often circular.

Organelle Chromosomes: These are generally circular DNA chromosomes containg very little protein.

Bacterial Chromosomes: These are generally larger than viral and organellar chromosomes but smaller than Eukaryotic. They are oftern circular.

Complex Eukaryotic Chromosome. These chromosomes are often very large containing amounts of DNA that is centimeters in length.
