NSLSII 8-BM Partner User (PU) - Tender-Energy Microspectroscopy Consortium

Formed in 2013, the Tender-Energy Microspectroscopy Consortium consists of a team of 13 researchers with a) related research interests in spatially-resolved XAS in the tender (1-5 keV) energy range in complex, heterogeneous, and dynamic natural materials and systems, and b) significant resources to enable and to enhance a facility for tender-energy spatially-resolved XAS at NSLS-II. The TES beamline (8-BM) is designed for high-performance extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS) in heterogeneous and structured materials, at spatial resolutions from the mm to ?m scale, and under various in-situ or in-operando sample conditions. These capabilities, in particular in a non-vacuum (helium) sample environment amenable to biogeochemical and hydrated materials, are ideally matched to our scientific goals.
