Composting Virtual Tour

What To Do With Manure???

Tools you will need: shovel or post-hole digger, manure shovel, small bucket
  1. Collect manure in your yard in the small bucket.
  2. Choose a location away from your garden or compost pile for a hole.
  3. Using a post-hole digger or shovel, dig a hole two or three feet deep. Notice this family has fenced off their manure area to keep out children.
  4. Pour manure into the hole.
  5. The bucket can serve as a cover for the hole. When your pet's waste is a few inches from the top, cover the hole with soil and start a new hole. Within a few months decomposers will convert the manure to soil.
