Patent Attorney — A Nice Niche

Jim Heinen photoopenquoteThe curriculum at Miami was extremely difficult and challenging which helped prepare me for where I am now. Everything that I took in the law classes was helpful at law school; everything that I did with my chemistry undergrad was helpful with what I have now.

Analyze an Issue from All Sides

Mark Thompson photoopenquoteMiami prepared me for law school by giving me a really well-rounded education. I think that phrase is easy to use but hard to explain and what I mean by that is that it teaches you to take an issue, and once you're comfortable thinking about it from a certain perspective, turn it around and think of it from the opposite side, so you really learn to analyze an issue from all sides. closequote

The World Isn't All Contracts and Torts

Beth McNellie photoopenquoteThe education I got at Miami was very comparable to the experiences that [my classmates at Columbia Law School] had had ... I've been able to look at a particular legal problem in a way ... that reflects the kind of interdisciplinary background that I've had. And I think that's been a benefit to my clients. closequote
