The tables above spell out the approximated cost for the program. Students have brought spending money which has ranged from as little as $300.00 and as much as $10,000 (which is a little excessive).

You can get credit for the program in sociology (4 hours) and anthropology (4 hours).  If your major or minor is anthropology you can get all 8 hours in anthropology.  The program is a 6-Week intensive course in Nepali culture and experience.  You will receive extension language and cultural training from Nepali teachers. Part of the program includes a placement with a Nepali family after your language and culture training.  The first week of the program includes a hike in the beautiful Himalaya mountain chain.

Payment of the travel fees is due to the sociology department around mid-December.  And the checks should be made out to Miami University.  Note that it is for the Nepal program on the check.  The remainder of the fee is due in April.

Dr. Janardan Subedi escorts you to Nepal.  We make all of the travel arrangements.  You will need to get a passport and you will also need some vaccinations (we will pass a list to you).  We will take care of your visa - you send us the fee, a picture, and completed visa form and the passport.  We will also need your contact information - home, parents, etc...  We will provide you with an information sheet about the country after you register for the program.  If you or your parents need further information, please contact Dr. Subedi at 513-529-3432/2628.
