MUCN primarily is located in three campus buildings, Hughes, Pearson, and Culler Halls.
Pearson houses the electron microscope facility scanning electron microscopes: JEOL 840a SEM, Zeiss Supra 35 FEG-VP SEM; Transmission Electron microscopes: JEOL 100S TEM, Zeiss 10C TEM; and various light and electronic-light microscopes: Nikon PCM 2000 Laser Scanning Confocal System,
Olympus FV500 Laser Scanning Confocal System, Olympus IX-81 Deconvolution, Nikon PCM 2000 Laser Scanning Confocal System, Olympus AX-70 Multimode Microscopy System, and Olympus SZX-12 Stereoscope Nikon Optiphot Photo System.
Hughes Hall houses Bruker 500 mHz solution and solid NMRs (1st 850 mHz NMR in US in January 08), Varian ICP-MS, Bruker LD Maldi-TOF, Digital Atomic force microscope, vapor deposition, laser particle sizer, micro printer system, BET, Thermal analyzer, Micro FT-Raman, Micro FT-IR, and Horiba fluorescence system.
IT Services also supports a new cluster used in nanocomputations and described in the following table:
