Student working in field for Environmental Measurements class photoThe Master of Environmental Science (M.En.) degree program, administered by the Institute for the Environment and Sustainability (IES), is designed to prepare you, upon graduation, for immediate employment as an environmental professional.

The M.En. program has over 675 graduates, virtually all pursuing environmental science and sustainability careers in consulting, industry, government, education, and non-profit organizations.
 

The M.En. degree was designated as a national Professional Science Master's (PSM) program based on it its professional skills, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary breadth.

Our program emphasizes:

  • problem-solving skills
  • interdisciplinary training
  • teamwork and management
  • effective communication
  • quantitative analysis

student working in field photoThe standard M.En. program can be completed in less than 2 years, and financial aid is available on a competitive basis.

The combined M.En. program allows students to complete an M.En. degree with 1 year of additional study beyond the bachelor's degree, and is available to qualified, tuition-paying students with an undergraduate co-major in environmental science or sustainability at Miami University.
