Honors Staff: Rachel Armstrong
|
Greetings! My name is Rachel Armstrong, and I am one of the Assistant Directors in the University Honors Program at Miami University. I am originally from Toledo, Ohio, “the glass city”. I completed my B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Communication at the University of Cincinnati, where I competed on the women’s rowing team and taught Interpersonal Communication. I completed my M.A. in College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University in 2011. I have worked on college campuses in advising, teaching, programming, and residence education. I also worked as a full-time nanny for one year, which was one of the most challenging and rewarding times of my life! Outside of work, I love Judo, biking, running, and traveling around the country to see widely scattered friends and family, whenever I have the time.
MY BEST ADVICE:
Be engaged in your learning. You will have countless educational opportunities at Miami University, in classes, residence halls, study groups, advising meetings, student organizations, internships, and more. Invest time and energy in these activities, and don’t be afraid to try something new while you’re at it!
BY THE TIME YOU GRADUATE:
I would like students to be capable and motivated to continue learning after graduation. I want them to have the skills to keep building understanding of their values, relationships, professions, and communities. |
