Educator News: Become Involved in Honors

In addition to teaching honors courses or leading honors co-curricular programs, Miami faculty and staff can contribute to the University Honors Program in three important ways:

Serve as the departmental liaison to the University Honors Program

Departmental liaisons are the point of contact for University Honors students who are pursuing a major in that department. The University Honors Program exchanges key information with the liaison to better ensure that students are given consistent messages about their progress.

Review student applications and portfolios

Reviewers are asked to attend a short training session to learn how to score and review applications or portfolios, using a rubric.

Serve on our advisory committee

The Honors Program Advisory Committee is a University Senate committee; it approves all curricular policies, co-curricular programs and courses and reviews applications or student e-portfolios.

Take Action

For more information on how to become involved, please contact the Honors Director at 513 529-2021.
