Every year, we are excited to welcome some of the best students from across the nation into the Miami University Honors Program and this year’s incoming class did not disappoint.

They have an impressive academic profile:

  • The average test score was a 31 ACT and 1380 on the SAT CR+M
  • Test scores ranged from 24 to 36 on the ACT and 1090 to 1600 on the SAT CR+M
  • Students typically ranked within the top 7% of their graduating class
  • The average GPA was 4.0 (on a 4 point scale)

They are more than their test scores:

  • 94% participated in community service
  • 61% played a varsity sport
  • 45% participated in music or theater
  • 97% entered Miami with some college credit
  • 54% have traveled outside of the US
  • 88% won a state or national award
  • 32% participated in an internship
  • 56% had a part-time job
  • 85% held some type of leadership position

  • 29% have an interest in pre-med
  • 20% have an interest in pre-law

They have achieved great things, including:

  • Founding a human rights club
  • Playing in the Mahler Symphony
  • Writing their school's official Honors Code
  • Winning First Place in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science
  • Being a nationally competitive gymnast
  • Acting as a national delegate for the Presbyterian Church General Assembly
  • Participating in a nationally recognized marching band
  • Organizing "Food Fight" which shipped over 46,000 meals to people around the globe
  • Starting 2 successful businesses
  • Being President of the Ohio Speech & Debate State Champions
  • Organizing a camp for Muslim Youth
  • Winning a national prize from the Ohio Energy Project
