Admission to Honors

The Honors Program is for students interested in enhancing their Miami experience. Whether a high school senior, current Miami student, or transferring to Miami from another university, students can apply for admission to the Honors Program on any of our three campuses.

Eligibility
There are no minimum criteria to apply. We encourage students to reflect on their personal goals and academic record and decide for themselves whether Honors would be an appropriate fit. While students who are accepted typically have outstanding academic records, their applications are reviewed for many factors. Selection Criteria
Admission into the Honors Program is both competitive and comprehensive. All applications to the Honors Program are carefully reviewed for multiple academic and contextual variables, including the following (listed in alphabetical order):

International Students
International students applying to Miami University can also apply to the University Honors Program. The application deadlines and process are the same as for domestic students. International students are encouraged, but are not required, to take the SAT or ACT in order to be considered for admission to the Honors Program. However, they must demonstrate language proficiency, which is determined by their TOEFL or IELTS scores. |
