Proteomics

Proteomics is a new and growing field supported by the CBFG. We have all the equipment and protocols required to perform highly parallel, 2-dimensional gel electrophoresis. We also provide complete training for all aspects of 2-D gel analysis of proteins.

A Bio-Rad VersaDoc molecular imager is available for imaging 1-D and 2-D gels. This system can produce high-quality images with a very wide variety of staining methods including fluorescent stains.

Phosphoproteomic analysis is supported by the use of ProQ Diamond stain and the VersaDoc imager.

Proteins separated by either 1-D or 2-D gels can be isolated by our new Protea GPR-800 micro-fluidics external linkinstrument to produce very high quality protein for analyzes by MALDI-ToF and MALDI-ToF-ToF mass spectrometry. Detailed protocols are available for trypsin digestion and other sample preparations for mass spectrometry.
