Miami University's Center for Animal Behavior (CAB) provides opportunities to study animal behavior at many levels. Whether you investigate individuals within a population or study behavior at the neuronal level, your work at the Center may help us better understand how animal and human behavior is generated and how it has been maintained over time.
Center faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates collaboratively examine physiological mechanisms of invertebrates and vertebrates to answer such questions as why and how specific behaviors have evolved. Their study interests span all areas of behavioral biology: they may work in laboratories to measure the activity of single nerve cells or they may conduct fieldwork to directly observe how animals behave in their natural environments.
CAB offers activities for children, high school students and science teachers. We are committed to sharing our research results in animal behavior with younger scientists, such as K-12 students as well as teachers.
We welcome local K-12 teachers to attend our seminars and other events, particularly those related to animal behavior, including:

The research forum highlights exciting new animal behavior research by Miami University undergraduates.
We:
promote collaborative opportunities in behavioral science- provide excellent opportunities for undergraduates and graduates to study animal behavior
- increase awareness and interest in animal behavior to teachers, school children, and the community at large
